CUMBERLAND, Md., July 17, 2015/ — Factor One Source Pharmacy, a Specialty Pharmacy dealing primarily with chronic and hard-to-manage medical conditions, announced yesterday that they are officially seeking accreditation from URAC, an independent and widely known healthcare organization that establishes quality standards within the medical industry.
The FOSRx accreditation with URAC status is now pending, a process which can take several months. This announcement comes for FOSRx after an already pending accreditation status with The Joint Commission. Both accreditations will ensure the highest levels of regulatory compliance while elevating the standard of operations within their organization by providing a framework to improve business processes, and quality care.
“We’re looking forward with confidence and excitement,” Dr. Sajal Roy, PharmD, CSP, CGP, CPSO, CACP, and CEO of FOSRx said. “Such a distinction will validate the quality of our work by demonstrating adherence to the national standards for a Specialty Pharmacy. Our strategic goal is to maintain dual accreditations with URAC and The Joint Commission which will position us as a top leader in Specialty Pharmacy services.”
The Joint Commission has scheduled their on-site survey of FOSRx this August, and both accreditations are expected to be completed this fall. By applying for the URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation, FOSRx has better positioned itself to strategically expand and proactively respond to today’s healthcare industry while continuing to deliver excellent patient care.
“It is critically important for healthcare organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. URAC accreditation is a demonstration of that commitment,” URAC President and CEO, Kylanne Green said.
