Texas Bleeding Disorders Conference

This year’s Texas Bleeding Disorder Conference was a huge success with over 600 consumers in attendance. The meeting kicked off on Friday Aug 4th, and continued through Sunday Aug 6th in Woodlands, TX.

The conference consisted of many breakout session focused on Family and patient issues. During the Conference there were exhibit times open to families to visit with Manufacturers and Specialty Pharmacies.

Factor One Source/FAST had a prime location and we were able to introduce our new display and new swag items and printed marketing materials (in both Spanish and English). We experienced large volume of traffic in the booth and were able to meet many wonderful families.

It was so exciting meeting all of the Texas folks. The Chapters, HTC nurses and attendees were extremely friendly and we received a big Texas welcome! We are truly looking forward to sponsoring future events and building relationships in the wonderful state of Texas.

FOSRX/FAST at Thunder Road Event

We recently had a great time at the the Hemophilia Foundation of Minnesota/Dakotas event held in Sioux Falls at Thunder Road. Held on July 29, the event began with an exhibitor meet and greet, followed by some educational talks by Sanford Children’s physical therapist, social worker, and the director of HFMD.

After a lunch with the families in attendance, we were given wrist bands and everyone was able to enjoy the rides there. It was a fun time. Our rep, Candice Leclerc, was able to reconnect with familiar faces in addition to meeting several new families. There were 90 people in attendance! Thanks to everyone who came out.

FAMOHIO 2016

Each year, nearly 400 adults and children in the bleeding disorder community from across Ohio get together to share an incredible weekend of education, activities, networking and fun! It’s similar to NHF’s Annual Meeting or HFA’s Annual Symposium, but on a statewide scale. It’s called FAMOHIO, and it is definitely one of Factor One Source Pharmacy’s very favorite events to participate in.

FAMOHIO

This year we met and spoke with hundreds of people from the community. We even raffled off an Amazon Echo, which, like FOSRx, is versatile, highly rated, cutting edge, and offers a premiere user experience. 13932792_1025556147559886_1888686549224389493_n

Fun fact: FAMOHIO celebrated its 25th year anniversary this year. Our Regional Sales Executive, Jaycee McCain, has attended ALL 25 years!

Red Tie Challenge

Factor One Source Pharmacy is excited to participate in the first year of NHF’s Red Tie Challenge during Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month. Our employees are equipped with customized FOSRx ties and encouraging others to join the fun.

According to hemophilia.org, NHF formally launched the Red Tie Challenge at the Washington Days advocacy event on Capitol Hill. The  movement created to start a conversation about inheritable bleeding disorders and support March 2016 as the first Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month.

The Red Tie Challenge encourages individuals and groups to show their support for the bleeding disorders community by:

  • recording a short video that shows how they wear a red tie and pledging their support for Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month
  • encouraging their fans and followers to take the challenge
  • posting the video to their social channels with #RedTieChallenge and
  • consider making a donation to support the bleeding disorders community: www.redtiechallenge.org.

“Because blood ties, embodied in the color red and the tie, are what bind our community together, the red tie is the new symbol for the bleeding disorders community,” said Val D. Bias, NHF CEO. “The color red also conveys strength, leadership, courage, determination and, above all, empathy and love—qualities and emotions that define our community.”

People can also visit the Red Tie Challenge Thunderclap page: http://thndr.me/calIw8 and pledge to take the challenge and support the bleeding disorders community by signing up via their Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr accounts. Then on April 17, which is World Hemophilia Day, that message will be mass-shared via their social feeds.

FOSRx is proud to take the Challenge and participate in such a positive campaign which spreads awareness for bleeding disorders.

Rare Disease Day 2016

IMG_3853 2Today is Rare Disease Day 2016, an awareness campaign put on by www.rarediseaseday.org.

Many of the conditions we treat at #FactorOneSourcePharmacy are considered rare diseases, meaning they affect fewer than 200,000 Americans. Rare diseases vary not only from disease to disease, but also from patient to patient suffering from the same disease, which is why specialized care and quality treatment are so important.

At FOSRx it is our mission to serve patients with chronic medical conditions that require detailed specialized medication management. Our team of healthcare professionals customize home infusion and specialty needs, and the extensive monitoring required to generate favorable outcomes. We encourage patient advocacy and spreading awareness for the conditions which affect our patients’ lives. We love our rare patients, and will bend over backwards to offer the best care available.

Contact us today to join the FOSRx Family of Patients by calling 844-77-FOSRx, or through our Contact Page.

FOSRx Supports Charity Event

Last weekend, members of the Factor One Source Pharmacy (FOSRx) team attended the 60th Annual Diamond Anniversary Snow Ball in Cumberland, Maryland to sponsor a charity event. The Snow Ball was hosted by the Western Maryland Health System Auxiliary (WMHS), and Factor One Source Pharmacy had the privilege of being Diamond Sponsors, which was the highest level sponsor.

Proceeds from the 2016 Snow Ball will go toward the Health System’s new Intensive Care Telemedicine Program. This program complements the care being provided locally with around-the-clock remote monitoring by intensivists for an extra layer of care. Founded in 2004, the WMHS Auxiliary is devoted exclusively to providing meaningful assistance to the patients and staff of the Western Maryland Health System. The FOSRx team was happy to contribute to and support the success of such worthy cause.

Factor One Source Pharmacy was founded in 2014, and has always made it a point to support good causes annually. In addition to providing individualized resources for patients, FOSRx has also implemented a 3-tier scholarship program to help young students affected by chronic illnesses pursue higher education, and makes it a point to sponsor medical-related research and charity events such as this.
