FOSRx/FAST Specialty Pharmacy to Expand in TX While Closing Location in TN

Cumberland, MD — May 26, 2017

Factor One Source Pharmacy (FOSRx/FAST) announced today the acquisition of a Dallas, TX specialty pharmacy. In parallel, an existing FOSRx/FAST pharmacy location in Dickson, TN will be acquired by the same pharmacy. The official date of the acquisitions and divestitures is expected to be May 26, 2017.

The deal was initiated by FOSRx/FAST to strengthen market presence in the Louisiana-Texas area, and to leverage existing relationships with providers, payors, and their patient base.

“FOSRx/FAST has a strong market presence in the south-central US, and the acquisition of a Dallas, TX pharmacy provides the structure to continue expansion in the region,” said Dr. Sajal Roy, President and Chief Executive Officer to FOSRx/FAST.

“While we are disappointed to leave the Nashville, TN market, we had to do so because of payor reimbursement changes centered around the State Medicaid TennCare. The pharmacy acquiring our Dickson location follows a model that will allow for them to be successful in this type of market while we focus on regions conducive to our business model. This mutual agreement will make both of our companies stronger and more competitive in the specialty pharmacy landscape,” said Roy.

The acquisition of the Dallas-based specialty pharmacy follows Factor One Source Pharmacy’s acquisition of Fast Access Specialty Therapeutics (FAST) earlier this year in Metairie, LA.

FOSRx/FAST, is a dual-entity specialty pharmacy headquartered in Cumberland, Maryland with the ability to serve patients with a variety of medical conditions nationwide. The combined specialty pharmacies are each dual accredited, and offer convenient medicine delivery for specialty conditions to the location of patients’ choice: home, hospital, physician’s office, or infusion center. The company focuses on clinical experience, patient support, and has excelled in servicing people with complex or hard-to-manage medications for Ig therapy, neurology, rheumatology, dermatology, hematology, oncology, addiction recovery, and osteoporosis.

Happy Caregiver, Happy Pharmacy! A FAST Testimonial

Location: Louisiana

I can’t thank this company and their staff enough for all they do and for giving us our life back. I truly believe she was god sent and I know our relationship/friendship will be lifelong!

“Only one word to describe my experience since using this company and there wonderful nurses and that word would be AMAZING!

My son was born with hemophilia A 13 years ago and has went through many many different home health companies. I cannot even begin to name all the nurses with these companies I have used considering how many we have went through, it was just total chaos. You would never see the same nurse more than once. Always new ones coming in and out at different times each time, well let me tell you that makes for a pretty hectic & unorganized life which at times seemed to be worse then the condition itself.

Each visit a new nurse with no previous knowledge of my sons medications are medical history just a few notes from the last nurse whom was also a stranger. It made communication almost impossible resulting in hospital stays that probably could have been prevented had the nurses known us and our history and not just a name on a patient log and diagnosis. We were hospitalized most of 2014 two hours away from our home and family for several different things, seemed we would never see the light at the end of the tunnel.

However that all changed fast we were released and turned over to FAST Specialty Pharmacy and since then we have seen just one nurse who sometimes I think may know my son better than even myself. She has become my shoulder to lean on, she has become like family I see her at the same time three days a week like clockwork she can list [my son’s] 13 year medical history without some little sticky note. I can call anytime any day she will be here to help without hesitation. Did I mention she drives a little over 2 hrs to see us three days a week, and we have only been hospitalized once in a year and a half now that she has been our nurse? I can’t thank this company and their staff enough for all they do and for giving us our life back. I truly believe she was god sent and I know our relationship/friendship will be lifelong!”

Red Tie Challenge 2017

Throughout the month of March, which is nationally recognized to be Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month, the teams at each of our three locations participated in the 2017 “Red Tie Challenge.”

NHF’s Red Tie Challenge aims to advance the fight against inheritable bleeding disorders by raising funds for its research, education and advocacy initiatives.

More than three million Americans have either hemophilia, von Willebrand disease or rare factor deficiencies, all of which prevent the blood from clotting normally; can result in extended bleeding after injury, surgery or trauma; and can be fatal if not treated effectively.

Take a look below at FOSRx/FAST employees sporting their ties to support our patients!

Spring Renewal

Today, March 20, marks the astronomical spring in the Northern Hemisphere, also known as equinox. Since night and day are nearly exactly the same length – 12 hours – all over the world the event literally means ‘equal night’ (equi – equal, and nox – night). The equinox marks the change of seasons, as the balance of light shifts to make for longer days or nights. It usually means that it’s time to hunker down for colder seasons, or time to rise and shine for warmer ones.

At Factor One Source Pharmacy, we certainly “hunkered down” during the colder season, working hard put all the necessary ‘ducks in a row’ to acquire FAST Access Specialty Therapeutics (F.A.S.T.) at the end of 2016. As FOSRx and F.A.S.T. have joined forces, we have learned from both teams and have made it a point to maintain best practices, while adopting new ways of tackling problems in order to be our very best. Since then, our dual companies have built a strong sense of unity and trust during the hard work and reorganization required of our transition. We, too, are now ready to “rise and shine” as the warmer season approaches.

“I am happy to say more progress is being made with the integration of our two companies. Each of our companies have aspects that we do really well.  As we can harvest those attributes, learn, integrate, and operationalize, the integration of the two companies will optimize what we each do BEST.” -Dr. Sajal Roy, CEO

Just as spring brings new life and opportunities to the nature around us, it also provides new opportunities for taking the wheel of your life. We encourage you to do this by making new goals of managing your medical care on your terms, and by ultimately taking control of your health. We have a renewed goal to provide our patients with amazing customer service. You can count on us.

We are now able to accept even more insurance plans and both teams combined offer more experience both in the field and in our pharmacies. Contact us today to ask our Patient Navigators how we can help you.

FAST Access Rx Awarded Specialty Pharmacy ACHC Accreditation

Metairie, LA February 13, 2017 — Fast Access Specialty Therapeutics (FAST), a specialty pharmacy that was recently acquired by Factor One Source Pharmacy (FOSRx), announce today that they have officially earned Accreditation Commission of Healthcare (ACHC) Accreditation in the field of Specialty Pharmacy (SRX).

The ACHC held their rigorous on-site survey of FAST in Metairie, Louisiana on January 26th, 2017 and granted accreditation to FAST for all services surveyed under the Specialty Pharmacy on February 3, 2017. During the survey, compliance with ACHC standards reflecting key organizational areas were evaluated.

FAST already holds accreditations with The Joint Commission and URAC. Holding three accreditations is extremely rare within the specialty pharmacy industry, and is a process that often takes months or years to achieve. Factor One Source Pharmacy (FOSRx), parent company to FAST Rx also maintains accreditation with URAC and The Joint Commission. All three accreditations will ensure the highest levels of regulatory compliance while elevating the standard of operations within their organization by providing a framework to improve business processes, and quality care.

“We are proud of the entire company and clinical team that made this accreditation a reality,” Dr. Sajal Roy, PharmD, CSP, CGP, CPSO, CACP, and CEO of FOSRx said.

Established in 1986, The ACHC Accreditation program supports the efforts of its accredited organizations to help deliver safe, high quality care and services. Accreditation is regarded as one of the key benchmarks for measuring the quality of an organization. The accreditation process also provided FOSRx with education and guidance to help staff continue to improve its program’s performance.

“Each accreditation affirms our processes that we put in place to make sure our patients get the best care and have the best outcomes for their disease states” Roy said. “Our strategic goal is to maintain all accreditations within our organization to demonstrate that we are top leader in Specialty Pharmacy services.”

ACHC is a recognized leader in the area of Pharmacy Accreditation, and  reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective care.  An SRX dispenses medications (injectable, intravenous or oral) in a client’s/patient’s home, physician’s office, or clinic specializing in certain disease states which are often chronic and sometimes life-threatening.  With the continuous changes in health care, patients are in search of reputable providers that consistently offer the best quality care and demonstrate the ability to maintain compliance with national standards.

Accreditation Commission for Health Care:

The Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) is a national organization developed by homecare and alternate-site healthcare industry providers. Our board, advisors, surveyors and staff are committed to providing the industry with an accreditation program that helps organizations improve business operations, quality of patient care and services.

ACHC is an independent, private, not-for-profit corporation.

ACHC has gained respect and recognition as an accrediting organization uniquely committed to health care providers. They have adopted a participatory approach to standards development that actively solicits the input of those most knowledgeable about current approaches to care. The result is a set of practical standards that promotes quality services and ensures optimum care for the patient. The entire accreditation process is a collaborative, educational, and genuinely patient-focused approach.
